Study With Me FAQ

It’s a co-study setup combining a focus timer with a companion video. The timer tracks your active study time, while the video provides ambient presence — like studying with someone quietly across the table.

Our brains naturally slip into small daydreams. With a companion presence, your mind can ‘wander’ in a low-energy, non-disruptive direction and quickly return to work. This reduces the cost of refocusing and keeps momentum. Watching these low-cognitive-load videos helps relieve mental fatigue and prevents your mind from drifting into other mentally taxing thoughts. During busy moments, occasionally glancing up at the growing stopwatch gives you a sense of progress toward your bigger goals.

Start the stopwatch, keep the video running for ambient presence, and work in focused intervals. You can pair this with your preferred method (e.g., Pomodoro) and take short breaks between sets. Feel free to switch videos during your session without affecting the timer — perfect for long work sessions where you might want to change the video midway.

Autoplay starts muted. If you like background sound, unmute the video. Prefer silence? Keep it muted and just use the visual presence — it still provides the ‘co-study’ effect.

Yes. Timing runs in your browser. The video streams from YouTube as usual; we don’t collect your study data.
